Kent Band Photography – Romeo Is Dead

A week or so ago I was able to work with Kent based alternative rock band Romeo Is Dead.
I went into the shoot with a few strong ideas in mind but the rest I left open to inspiration as the shoot progressed.
After having a look through their past promo shots I saw a recurring theme of the guys wearing smart clothes on location and in a studio inspired setting. I knew that for the first set-up I wanted to utilise this style and create a strong black and white version of it.
Once we’d completed the smart set-up I wanted to take the shoot in a completely different direction and create some fun and vibrant shots.
I always try and deliver strong variations throughout the images that I deliver to the bands I work with. That could be a flash based shot followed by a naturally lit shot, or a bright vibrant colour photo followed by a dark black and white image. The idea being that it gives the bands the most amount of versatility with how to use their promotional images.
